Astrological Yearly Overview For 2002

This year starts off with transit Saturn retrograde (moving backwards) and still in the sign of Gemini. Saturn rules the structures that we build to form guidelines for living. With the retrograde movement of Saturn, the structures previously put into place will undergo review during the first two months of 2002. Once Saturn turns direct again, in February the revised rules and structures will be put into place.

Saturn rules governments, armed forces, bosses and CEO’s, Judges and anyone in authority over you as an individual. The sign of Gemini rules communication, transport, the air that we breath. All of these areas will be undergoing revision so that the structure that emerges will be stronger than the previously. These areas will be the focus of the 2002 year, since Saturn is in the sign of Gemini for the entire year.

On May 26^th, 2002, Pluto and Saturn will make their third opposition to each other. This pass will bring about a review of the changes that were required to deal with the September 11^th incident that was triggered by their second opposition in 2001. The first pass between these two planets usually bring your attention to a problem, the second pass causes you to make and revise changes to the problem area, the third pass will solidify any changes required and bring an ending to the issues once and for all.

As mentioned previously in this article, all the areas ruled by Saturn and Pluto may be affected by the third pass of these two outer planets.

Transit Jupiter moves from the sign of Cancer to Leo on August 2^nd, bringing expansion into the areas ruled by Leo. These areas are families, children, hobbies and fun times. Folks will move from the protection of Cancer (families) in 2001, to the outer flamboyance of Leo. Look for more flair, spending, and folks just wanting to have a fun time. There may also be a small baby boom in 2002, since Leo naturally rules the 5^th house of children. Jupiter also makes a great angle with Pluto, so big business may find that they are able to expand more in 2002, this will be the year of larger companies being formed and covering a wider area.

Pluto also rules oil and any resources buried underground. The first part of the year will see prices in oil and gas fairly low, a continuation of the 2001 trend, since Pluto will still be in opposition to Saturn which rules restrictions. Once Jupiter moves into Leo in August though, and makes a trine to Pluto, the energy prices too will expand and start to rise. You may find that governments will have to set the prices as they could soar if left unabated.

Neptune starts off the year receiving a trine from Saturn, this brings renewed idealism to those affected by the previous Saturn/Pluto opposition. Inspiration will abound at the first of the New Year, and some dreams will be realized this year.

Uranus, also makes a nice trine to Saturn, in December bringing some sudden benefit to those in power, like governments, armed forces, Ceo’s, all will find they have a nice surprise for Christmas 2002.
